Happy New Year!

The countdown to 2018 begins…
The week between Christmas and New Years always seems to pass in a blink. It has been fun, but I do wish I had another week to just lounge before getting back to work.
Christmas was definitely different this year. But we stuck with our traditions, one of my favorite being the annual photo on the steps before the kids ripped into all of their presents.
This year Santa went a little overboard. I may have over compensated for the fact that Jeremy wasn’t here with a few too many presents. This Christmas definitely wasn’t the same without Jeremy. But we were blessed to be able to have Jeremy on video chat while the kids opened presents.
It was a quiet few days filled with snuggles on the couch, playing new games, and eating way too much food.
Over the last few days I’ve spent some time reflecting on the past year, and thinking about all that’s to come in 2018.This past year definitely brought about some unexpected twists and turns. We definitely weren’t expecting news of a deployment, that’s for sure. But, there were lots of good surprises and exciting things that happened too. I was introduced to and took my first reiki class, I started regularly practicing yoga and began yoga teacher training, and I decided to shift the focus my freelance writing business to work with soul centered entrepreneurs who appreciate the woo-woo like I do. It was a year of exploring interests, a year of growth, and a year that will forever be etched in my memory.
The last few years, I started selecting a word of the year. After sitting back and meditating on it, I’ve decided that 2018 is going to be a year of courage. A year to step out of fear and step into faith. A year to own my truth and share it freely. A year to trust my instincts believe in myself and trust the path I’m on will guide me to exactly where I’m supposed to be.
We’re only a few months into this deployment and I’ve already learned a lot about my strength and tenacity. I can’t wait to see what else I’ll discover as we move into the New Year!
Wishing you and yours the very best as we ring in the New Year.
