Off He Goes…
Lauren Fonvielle, Writer & Lightworker
And just like that, my love is on the other side of the world.
It was a long week. Between my full time gig, freelance projects, sports activities, playdates, and birthday parties… this mama is pooped. Being so busy helps the time go faster but it certainly takes a lot out of me. I’m feeling a bit run down on this Monday afternoon. So as I sit here sipping my tea, I’m choosing to focus on the things that I am grateful for.
I’m grateful that Jeremy got to Bahrain safe and sound. He’s settling in, and trying to adjust to the time change. It turns out there’s a handful of people that he’s served with in the past, or went to the Academy with that are currently over there as well. I can only imagine how comforting it is to see friendly faces.
Im grateful my kiddos are so good about rolling with the punches. There were a few activities that we had planned this weekend, that for one reason or another we didn’t get to do… while there was minimal sulking, they mostly took in in stride, making it a lot easier on me.
I’m grateful to have friends new and old who encourage and push me to not only believe in myself but encourage me to really go after what I truly want – and that goes for professional and in personal life.
I’m grateful that I made the decision to use this blog talk about things that matter to me, and blend the personal with the professional.
I’m grateful for clients who truly appreciate my work, and take the time to share that with me. You have no idea, how much your kind, encouraging words warm my heart, and push me to work even harder.
I’m grateful for technology. It’s amazing how far we’ve come on the technology front since Jeremy’s last deployment. Granted, this time he is on a base, not a ship, so that helps. But still, the fact that we can text and face time via the internet and not have to worry about insane long distance fees is pretty damn wonderful.
I’m grateful I took a chance and signed up for YTT. This training is helping to ensure I schedule some me-time every day, journal about how I’m feeling, and helping me tap into my higher self.
Simply writing what I’m grateful for makes me feel a little less exhausted, and a little more blessed. I’m currently participating in Oprah and Deepak’s 21 day meditation series: Making Every Moment Matter (it’s free, so hop on the bandwagon if you feel so inclined). It’s giving me a new perspective on how I view time, where I invest my time, and how that all makes me feel. It all goes hand-in-hand with this video I saw while scrolling through my FB newsfeed. Life is short, invest your time in the people and things you love the most. My daily gratitude journal is helping to regularly remind me of that.
What are you grateful for?
